TRANSITIONAL PINKS

Here we are in the beginning of September and I'm not quite sure where the time has gone. No more long weekends and weekends on the boat are soon to be a thing of the past. Let's hope that Indian summer brings us a few more sunshine filled weekends so we can make the most of our time off.

One of the most exciting parts about the seasons changing is the transition into a new makeup wardrobe. Sounds dramatic right? It's not, I swear. I start swapping out my hot pinks for mauves and nudes, foundations become a bit fuller coverage, and jewel toned lids make their glimmering appearances. The easiest way to begin the transition, however, is by bringing in a new bevy of pinks - I'm talking deeper pinks with an almost amethyst undertone. To keep things looking fresh I love to use a cream blush like the YSL Creme de Blush in 07, which creates a natural stained baby pink cheek.

My favorite transitional pink for the eyes is the Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill in Sweet Fire, a ruby flecked rose reminiscent of a speckled egg. The texture of this is like silk and the color combination blends together creating the perfect gilded mauve eye. For lips I love the YSL Volupte Sheer Candy in Fraise Ganache  which is a beautifully flattering strawberry with silver micro glitter that gives an illusion of a fuller lip. One of my favorite glosses for fall is the Dior Addict Gloss in Cygne Noir which is a sparkling mauve that looks amazing paired over the YSL Volupte and even on its own over a bit of nude lip liner. It appears pretty dark in the tube but it wears like a sheer wash of berry on the lips. I love the deeper tones that are reflected during this time of the year, what better time to add a few berries and plums to your stash than now?
