I love nothing more than a burning candle, a mug of hot cocoa, and the lights of the Christmas tree creating a cozy ambience this time of the year. There really is nothing better. I get that it may seem a bit frivolous when you think about quite literally burning away your money on fancy candles, but it's an experience in itself and often conjures up memories of different places and times based on scents surrounding certain experiences. For the holidays, there is nothing more heartwarming than a good burning fire and some greenery surrounding the hearth and thats exactly the aroma that Diptyque's Feu De Bois and Mousses create when burned together. Of course I love them both on their own as well, Feu De Bois has been a longtime favorite of mine because of it's organic firewood scent. Some of my other favorite candles to ignite cozy memories would also make quite luxe gifts :

Diptyque Le Redoute // Fills any space with the aroma of cinnamon, cloves, and oranges with a base note of amber and rose. It smells like a heavenly bowl of holiday potpourri made from fresh spices and flowers, not to mention the jar is a stunner.

Laduree Brioche // Smells of the fresh baked buttery buns sweep the air, making any room smell as if you have been taught to bake by French professionals. The burn time is pretty incredible with this candle, but based on its delicious aroma in a perfect world I would have an army of backups at all times.

Byredo Bibliotheque // I'm not quite sure how they capture the smell of leather-bound library books in a candle but they did it here. I love how it has a hint of sweet vanilla and fruity plum mixed with the musty leather. So sophisticated and sensual.

Astier de Villatte // Super luxe candle housed in a hand blown Tuscan glass jar. This smells as if you have been transported to an Italian villa and are lost in labyrinth of cypress and cedar trees. It also has a fresh and spicy hint of citrus in the mix.

Have a whiff for yourself and maybe cross a few people off of your gift list as well. What are your favorite candles during this time of the year?
