Light and natural are two characteristics that we can all agree we want our bases to have. Well, I'm quite experienced in the department after coming to the realization that it's better to cut the full-coverage factor where everyday appropriate makeup is concerned. Cue the slew of lightweight and glow-giving products that help even out skin's ruddiness just enough to have them fooled: maybe she's born with it? Probably not...but maybe.

There are what seems to be an onslaught of tinted moisturizers, BB creams, and "tints" currently available to the masses of women looking to be a better version of themselves, but the problem is where to start? Some are too drying, some are too greasy, too glittery, even too orange, perhaps. Well, that's why you ladies have come to the right place; I'm here to take the guesswork out of looking, but not being natural and am sharing my favorites with you.

Chanel Les Beiges Fluide Belle Mine // This is the fullest coverage offering of the bunch, but don't let that fool you. It doesn't come anywhere close to being your run of the mill full coverage foundation. I keep this bottle around for situations that call for juicy skin reminiscent of a glow you'd have after spending a few days out in the sun. The formula is youth-inducing and always gives me that "oh why yes, I just got back from Mallorca" radiance.

Jouer Matte Moisture Tint // The brand has really created an unparalleled product in their Matte Moisture Tint. It somehow comforts the skin with just the right of moisture, while remaining matte throughout the day. It's really great because you get the best of both worlds; plump and fresh skin, but never too dewy in the greasy sense. If you're an oily skinned girl who cringes at the thought of anything giving your skin additional moisture, then this is one for you to try. This formula will convert you.

Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer // The most light-inducing of my tinted moisturizer collection; this stuff does so somehow without any glitter, or even shimmer. Nars can do no wrong - it adds a radiant glow to the skin, while washing it in a veil of tone-evening coverage. I think it has just enough coverage to make the skin look healthy but never not like skin. Think of this as the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation mixed with a dollop of really good moisturizer. It's just...yes

Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer // Laura Mercier is like the unofficial queen of the tinted moisturizer. She is to tinted moisturizer, what DVF is to the wrap dress; nobody does it like she does. It's a no fuss tint, in my personal favorite, oil-free formula that has pretty amazing longevity for such a glow giving product. If you are new to the tinted moisturizer game, or bases in general, this is where I recommend you start.

  1. I really would like to pick up a tinted moisturizer, thanks for the help! Great post! xoxo

  2. All of these sound amazing! I particularly want to try the Jouer and NARS picks - I will one day, once I finish all of the light coverage bases I already have...

    Tasha // shiwashiful.

  3. these products sound amazing, will definitely check them out
