Seeing as it is my birthday today, I thought I'd talk about some of my favorite products in the uber-luxe, wallet-weepingly expensive category. Because on your treat yourself, right? Even if it is by reaching for your bevy of high-performance weightily packaged beauty goodies - these products hold to their high standards by keeping me looking glowy in all the right places and my makeup perfect with little effort. Here are my picks in the "worth the splurge" category of beauty:

By Terry Baume de Rose - The rose-scented cult balm is so for a reason. It's rich in texture and produces results similar to a good oil does for the skin - it makes the lips glow. I also find that it sloughs off dead skin and dry patches within minutes of application without any rough exfoliators...making for the perfect canvas once the product has absorbed. Yes, this stuff is on the expensive (to say the least) end of the balm spectrum but it does the job when my lips are in dire straits and nothing else can. If you like more of a tint to your balm, I suggest checking out the shade Toffee Cream - a universally flattering shade of nude-pink that gives the illusion of fuller, softer lips.

Guerlain Perfecting Météorites Primer - Perfect, almost translucent skin is always in style and this gel-based primer will bring you as close to that look as possible. The beautiful glass jar is filled with complexion perfecting light-infused pearls suspended in a fresh and soothing gel formula. Just a pump leaves my skin feeling smooth and feeling perfectly balanced (skincare ingredients included), but looking dewy and radiant all day. This is one of those suit-all products that is subtle enough for daily use and every skin type.

La Prairie Cellular Radiance Cream Blush - An über rich, skin enhancing cream blush that promotes healthy skin texture and gives an instant lit-from-within flush. Since you know that each product from La Prairie contains a luxe blend of anti-aging ingredients, you'll know that this one is no different. The supple pigments impart a super natural looking flush that doesn't settle into pores or ever look overdone. These give the ever-so-coveted look of wind-bitten cheeks after having been outside in an English garden. I've tried many a cream blush and these stand top of the list. Oh - and did I mention they come in their own zip-up leather cases? Talk about next-level luxe...

La Prairie Skin Caviar Concealer and Foundation - Treat your skin with supreme anti-aging and antioxidant benefits while covering any and all imperfections. The tiniest dab of this rich and moisturizing foundation will cover flaws and the concealer shade comes in the lid with a handy mirror - pre-matched to your complexion. Talk about convenience - and the glow you'll get ain't bad either.

By Terry Ombre Blackstar - I'll spare you the rant on this one only because I have sung their praises countless times before. This cream shadow stick adds glossy, gilded dimension in just one swipe and stays put all day. I know there are multiple cream eyeshadow sticks (some better than others) but the depth of the shades in the By Terry range and the longevity of the formula is what keeps this one at the top of the list. If ever you need an eyeshadow that will not budge no matter what - reach for this. It turns even the shakiest of hands into a shadow artist with just a scribble of a pen...

Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer - If you struggle with under eye bags and blemishes that won't remain covered, it's time you look toward this creamy pigment-rich concealer. It's a celebrity and makeup artist favorite for it's smoothing formula that never settles into fine lines or dry out the skin. It simply looks like skin and glides over imperfections like silk - you'll never know you had any.
