2 Autumn Lip & Eye Product Combinations To Take You From Day To Night

2 Autumn Lip & Eye Product Combinations To Take You From Day To Night

It seems as though the summer has flown right past us, as the temperatures have already cooled down and I'm now comfortable wearing a light jacket in the mornings. I can't say I hate this change, as I've always been a fan of the autumn weather and clothing; who could say no to cozy sweaters and jeans? With that said, I also like to switch up some of the colors in my makeup routine as well, trading pinks for berries and adding some subtle jewel tones in for nighttime beauty looks.

Lately, my favorite product pairings just so happen to be perfect for two different autumn looks; one super subtle and perfect for daytime, and one more evening appropriate, though it could be worn during the day as well if you're up for a pop of color.
The bolder of the two looks is something I like to do for autumn nights out. I have always loved the way a (thin!) stripe of deep purple liner makes my brown eyes pop, and that it allows me to wear a hint of color without looking like I went overboard. My favorite is the Lancôme Artliner in Violet, as it's easy to use, lasts all day, and has a metallic effect which reflects the light beautifully. The perfect lip product to pair with this is a mauvey neutral, and right now I'm absolutely in love with the Hourglass Confession Ultra Slim Refillable Lipstick in I'm Addicted. The pigment in these sleek lipsticks is super intense, and while the product has great staying power, I like that it doesn't dry my lips out.
My favorite look for the daytime lately is centered around a sheer, berry lip. I like how it looks rich, yet never like you're wearing a lot of makeup. The Clinique Pop Glaze Sheer Lip Colour + Primer in 09 Licorice Pop is amazing as it has a primer built right in to help the moisturizing texture last. That color isn't half bad either! I like to complement this warm lip color with a warm, yet natural eye look, and lately I've been super into the Laura Mercier Matte Caviar Sticks. Here, I'm wearing the shade Caramel which is like a "my eyes, but better" product thanks to its warm taupe hue.
That's pretty much it; it's super easy to alternate these products to create unique looks while still keeping things pretty natural and wearable. What is your favorite lip and eye product pairing right now, and will you be trying these favorites?

Jo Malone's English Oak Colognes

Jo Malone's English Oak Colognes

Jo Malone's seasonal launches are, to me, one of the telltale signs that one has come to an end and another is beginning. The beginning of this September is no different, with two new woody launches making their way to vanities everywhere. The fragrances in question are the two new available English Oak Colognes; both being undeniably sexy in nature thanks to their masculinity, which was peppered ever-so-perfectly with floral and fruit notes. I can already see both of these becoming favorites from the famed perfume house, and I'm sure they'd work equally well year-round as they would for fall.

The first scent is English Oak & Redcurrant, and is also the fruitier of the two options. The scent offers a crisp, juicy opening of redcurrant that isn't unlike the brand's Blackberry & Bay scent; but then, it surprises you with rose, white must and a roasted oak note that leans a bit masculine and offsets the feminine notes in just the right way. The brand suggests pairing this with fruity fragrances, such as the aforementioned scent for a truly fresh scent.
The sister scent is the English Oak & Hazlenut Cologne; it offers an overall earthier, greener take on the roasted oak note, and also weaves in warm cedarwood notes as well as a top note of fresh hazlenut. This one is warmer and cozier, and can be mixed with its brighter counterpart, or layered with Wood Sage & Sea Salt for a crisp update that boasts leafy, oceanic notes.
Both of these scents are perfect for autumn, and I love that they have a very unisex feel to them. I liken wearing these scents to the warm, comforted feeling you'd get wearing a man's sweater...woody, rich, and embracing.

Have you tried these new classics yet?
