The Golden Summer Makeup Edit

July 29, 2018
I've had a bit of a makeup routine switch-up over the past few weeks; after discovering an *incredible* new foundation that made my skin glow, I wanted to amp it up even more with some golden-goddess inspired products. It seems to be a trend lately that all of my favorite brands are catching onto; from rose gold shadows to tawny pink lipsticks and glosses that compliment the look. The best part? These products suit everyone and create a look perfect for everyday and summer soirées, alike.
By now, I'm sure you're wondering what the base in question is, amirite? It's the reformulated Guerlain Lingerie de Peau, which offers a satin-matte finish that evens out the skin and still manages to look fresh and skin-like while staying put all day. It's the dream foundation, you guys.

I've then been going in with a wand-full of the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter and dab it across the tops of my cheekbones, on my cupids bow and down the center of my nose for an all-over pearlescent glow that has absolutely zero detectable shimmer particles, whatsoever. It's my favorite liquid highlighter yet; it can even be used as a base prior to foundation application, and mixes well with foundation, too.

But the glow doesn't stop there! I can't talk about this edit without giving honorable mention to the über luxe Lilah B. Glisten & Glow Skin Illuminator. This is a drier cream-based product that has enough staying power to remain put even in the heat. I typically use this one when I'm planning on spending a long period of time outdoors, because I know it will last.
For eyes, I can't stop dipping into the limited edition Nars Eyeshadow Quad in Singapore; the consistency of the shadows are amazing because even with the intense shimmer they manage to be buttery and blendable. I love the overall tone of the shades here too...they're warm and give off a serious summer vibe when paired with a beaming highlight and bronzed skin. That berry shade is to.die.for.

On the lips, I've been switching between two products for this look depending on whether I want to amp it up or turn it down for daytime appropriate wear. For office hours, the Sisley Phyto Lip Delight Sensorial Lip Oil is incredible; it's a gel-based liquid lip balm that turns into an oil upon contact with your lips and enhances their shape and fullness. The colors are perfect for this look (and really any look) because they are all variations of natural pinks. My personal favorite shade is a peachy-pink aptly named, Sweet.

If I'm looking for a more "finished" look, I will reach for the new Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Sunset Lover. This is perhaps my favorite matte lipstick formulation of all time, and the mid-tone peachy-pink hue warms the complexion in all the right ways.
So, tell me; have you tried any of the products in my golden summer makeup edit?
